STILL WE ROAR!

Still We Roar tells the stories of Kerry Davis, (England’s first Black female footballer), Mary Phillip, (England’s first Black female captain) and Hope Powell (first female manager for England). These three women are pioneers in the game. Their paths have crossed many times, most notably at the Women’s World Cup in Sweden 1995, where the play is set.

The 40-minute play was performed in the Great Hall at Wembley Stadium on Thursday 26th October to celebrate Black History Month. The show was followed by a live Q&A with Kerry, Hope and Mary where they commented on the show and added context to their stories.
